Titanic (1997)
Who has not watched this sad movie cannot claim to have felt extreme sorrow of both worlds. Being one of the saddest movies, it hits the deepest of our sorrows and this sad movie does a good job doing it. A story about romance, love and sacrifice, it’s a wonderful and worth-watching movie. It starts by a 101-year-old woman named Rose DeWitt Bukater telling the story to her granddaughter Lizzy Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby Buell and Anatoly Mikailavich on the Keldysh about her life set in April 10th 1912, on a ship called Titanic when young Rose boards the departing ship with the upper-class passengers and her mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, and her fiancé, Caledon Hockley. Meanwhile, a drifter and artist named Jack Dawson and his best friend Fabrizio De Rossi win third-class tickets to the ship in a game. And she explains the whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on its first and last voyage April 15th, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning.
This sad movie begins in modern times with the exploration of the wreck by a group searching for treasures that sunk with the Titanic, which has recently occurred. One of the survivors of the Titanic, Rose DeWitt Bukater, who had heard of the exploration of the wreck on television and is flown to the boat where the search is being led from to tell of what she remembers to help the search. She gets to tell her memory of the one and only voyage of the Titanic. With this, the scene shifts to Southhampton, Ireland where the Titanic set sail from on April 10, 1912 as all the passengers are boarding.
After another stop on the Irish coast, Titanic went out to see on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic bound for New York. Historically the first few days of the voyage went by uneventful, but the fictional plot of the story is developed during this time as Rose sees the hopeless entrapment of an engagement that she is in to the wealthy Cal Hockley and falls in love with third class passenger, Jack Dawson. Overall, the basic plot of the film ranks it with the saddest movies. The plot also is very accurate in its portrayal of the events and the times at which these events took place on the Titanic.
There is a life learning message in the movie as the people on the ship had mere there to contemplate their demise. The director, James Cameron, shows the various reactions to this time of crisis in people’s lives. Everyone reacts differently and he gets you to think of how you might have reacted had you been in that situation on the Titanic on that fateful night.

A true story about a man named Christopher McCandless who abandons his possessions and donates his entire 24000 dollars savings to charity and goes on a journey by hitchhiking to Alaska to live in the wild beauty of the nature. This journey however turns out to teach him values of life and morals as he encounters a series of characters that play a role in his story of life. The move can be compared with the saddest movies of any era.
A Walk to Remember
Among our list of saddest movies “Walk to Remember” is a superb production. Landon’s life is totally changed when Jamie enters into his circle. Landon’s life is empty and hollow which would never be meaningful. Because of his role in a drama club, he asks Jamie to train him for it. Jamie asks him not to fall in love with her which he promises not to but he does fall in love with her in the end. Winning numerous medals, inspiring people to jog and run, creating smileys, writing songs and stickers, donating to people and meeting the president several times, his life becomes colorful all the same which is the reason why this is a sad movie. In short, the only thing he wants to prove is that anyone can have love and give love to other which makes his movie stand out in our list of sad movies.
